Welcome to Wetherby District Scouts from your “Team DC”…
Mick Bee joined scouts as a cub, then became a scout and venture scout. He has over 35 years experience as a Scout Leader, District Explorer Scout Commissioner and Deputy District Commissioner, mainly in Wetherby District, and is also a Training Advisor and Duke of Edinburgh Assessor.
Best thing about scouts is seeing young people grow up and achieve their full potential.
Most enjoyable experience to date is camping with Explorers at The International Scout Centre in Kandersteg, Switzerland.
Hobbies include long distance walking and dry stone walling.
Tim Archer grew up in South Yorkshire and joined Cub Scouts at an early age in Maltby, progressing through the ranks to become Senior Sixer. Unfortunately the demands of secondary education meant that the transition to Scouts did not last long. That however all changed when relocating to Wetherby in 2000 with his young family as his son became a beaver, his wife a beaver leader and he joined the District Executive, firstly as a lay member, then Secretary and most latterly Chairman.
Best thing about Scouts is being able to give something back to the community and seeing the smile on the young peoples faces.
Pete Allanach got involved with Scouting about 10 years ago and after several years as an occasional helper he took up the role as Group Scout Leader at Boston Spa.
Pete spent 8 years in the Army as an Infantry Officer and has undertaken diverse expeditions overseas in the desert of northern Chile, the jungles of Borneo and the white water of New Zealand’s mountain rivers . Pete enjoys planning creative and original events for Scouts and has a passion for teaching navigation, developing leadership and fostering self-resilience.
Hobbies include running, cinema, reading and planning the next great adventure!
