Welcome to Wetherby District
Wetherby District is a vibrant and growing rural District, proudly forming one of the eight Districts within Central Yorkshire Scout County. Through the dedication of our volunteers, we provide life-changing opportunities and adventures for hundreds of young people across our communities.
Our District is home to 14 Scout Groups, including three larger Groups that each offer multiple Beaver, Cub and Scout sections, ensuring even more young people can experience the fun, challenge and friendship that Scouting provides.
For young people aged 14 to 18, we offer four thriving Explorer Scout Units alongside a Young Leaders’ Unit, helping them develop confidence, leadership skills and a sense of responsibility. Our Youth Team, led by our Youth Lead, ensures that young people have a genuine voice in shaping the future of Scouting across the District.
Scouting opportunities continue beyond the age of 18 through our well-established Scout Network, enabling young adults aged 18 to 25 to continue their own Scouting journey, build lasting friendships and take part in exciting experiences, whether or not they also volunteer as leaders.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated District Team works collaboratively to support our Groups, deliver inspiring events and ensure Scouting continues to flourish across the District. Alongside them, our District Trustee Board provides strong governance and strategic oversight, helping us build a sustainable future and create even more opportunities for young people to gain Skills for Life.
