District Explorer Scout Commissioner

Could you support our Explorer Unit leadership teams to deliver a fun, challenging and high quality programme across Wetherby District?

If you have the skills and enthusiasm to drive an exciting programme for 14-18 year olds and help them to achieve the highest awards, we would like to hear from you.

We have seven Explorer Units operating across Wetherby District and a Young Leader Training Unit. This role supports the Explorer Unit Leaders to develop and deliver a fun, challenging, high quality and youth-focussed programme for Explorers. Ensuring that we have enough Explorer Leaders across the District and that they are well trained and supported is another important aspect of the role.

You will be supported by the District Commissioner and work with the District Explorer Scout Administrator. You will also be a charity trustee as a member of the Wetherby District Executive Committee.

This role requires a DBS check and your training will lead to a Managers and Supporters Wood Badge (you have up to 3 years to complete this).
